Al of Granada Hills, California, installed a PowerPack and TransCommand on an ‘02 Ford 6.8L V-10 motorhome

I am 67 years old. I have been twisting wrenches for 63 years. I owned an automatic transmission shop for thirty years. I have done all of my own auto repair. I worked for five years as mechanic and crew chief for vintage race cars. Oh Ya, I retired from Dept. of Water 76 Power, City of Los Angeles, after thirty two years of service. I have installed headers, intake systems, cams and rebuilt several engines of all types.

My wife always goes with me, wherever I go. We drive our 2002 V10 Ford Motorhome an average of 1,000 miles per month. We tow a tow car that weighs 3,000 lbs. We also tow an enclosed car trailer with race car and tools and parts. Trailer and load weighs 7,000 lbs. When we travel, our total weight is between 22,000 & 26,000 lbs. WE NEEDED MORE POWER! The automatic transmission has always been very iffie. It would slip in reverse and would have to wind engine to 4,500 RPM to get it to shift. I use Red Line Lubrication products. I called Red Line on the phone about their transmission fluid. After installing their hi-temp fluid, the transmission was about 50% better.

I have known about your Banks systems for years. I know people that have your systems. They all tell me that they were astounded with the difference the system made when installed. It has been my experience that you don’t just bolt on the horsepower I needed. To me it seems that people always like what they have, until they don’t want it anymore.

I always shied away from your system, because of the price. This last March, a friend convinced me to really check into your system. My wife and I talked it over. I wanted to try the system. When I told my wife the system would cost over $3,000, she was against it. We have 45,000 miles on the motor home. My wife said, the system can never pay for itself. After a while she said OK get the system.

I purchased the system and installed it myself. While opening the boxes, I spent lots of time inspecting the parts. I was very impressed with the craftsmanship of each and every part. The packaging was very good. MORE than this, every employee I dealt with should be given special recognition. Each and every person I spoke to on the phone and met in person, knew their job and did it! Sorry I don’t know their names.

I was very surprised how well every piece of the system fit.

We left for a 2,000 mile trip to Northern California and on into Oregon. After on about one hour on the road, my wife noticed the difference of the noise level inside the coach. I noticed the difference in pulling power. I was pulling out and passing trucks that would have passed me before. The transmission, FANTASTIC! I can’t believe the difference in the transmission. I AM VERY IMPRESSED! I sold my transmission shop in 1989. I knew my transmission was not right. However I did not know how to fix it. I was afraid to do much because of warranty. I now pull hills, in most cases, one gear higher than before. No more stupid up and down shifting between 3rd & 4th. I can now drive the coach like my car. Transmission, at light throttle, will shift at 2,500 RPM instead of 5,000.

Gas mileage, well, it didn’t change. Thank God. It has been my experience, you have to feed horsepower. 6.713290 MPG @ 22,000 lbs. Average speed 59 MPH.

I HAVE TO HAND IT TO YOU, I DON’T KNOW HOW YOU DID IT!

PS Your system will pay for itself in drivability. I think ALL of your employees need recognition as a team.
