Crew Chief, Sheldon Tackett, built a special jig to keep the Speedway Engineering Track-Nine 9” Ford-style rearend housing straight while its attachment brackets were being welded to it.

An experimental 4-disc carbon/carbon clutch assembly will be tested to see if it will withstand the enormous torque of Banks’ Sidewinder D-Max Type-R power output, as well as withstand 24 hours of severe racing conditions.

Clutch Overview:

  • Experimental 4-disc carbon/carbon race clutch

  • Tilton magnesium bellhousing providing ultra-low ground clearance

Gearbox:

A gearbox able to withstand the extreme power and torque requirements of the intercooled, twin-turbocharged Duramax engine was located and will be tested.  

Gearbox Overview:

  • Four-speed clutchless up/down gear capable

  • Changeable gear ratios

Rear Axle:

A racing rear axle assembly has been built to withstand high horsepower and immense torque of Banks’ Sidewinder D-Max Type-R.

Rear Axle Overview:

  • Speedway Engineering Track-Nine 9" Ford-style rearend housing

  • Full-floating hubs

  • Built to NASCAR spec

  • Detroit Locker limited-slip unit
