Banks Sidewinder D-Max Type-R

Go behind the wheel!

The Type-R had an eventful day at Willow Springs race track recently. We'll give you a full report soon, but check out the video showing what it's like to take a lap in the world's first diesel road-racing pickup.

Watch what's happened so far...

The Banks Race Shop crew has been going full-throttle getting the D-Max Type-R ready to take on not only the competition but also the preconceived notions of what a diesel can and can't do. Check out the video to see the action in the Race Shop, skidpad testing at California Speedway, and then on the track at Thunderhill Raceway.

Putting it to the test

Burning the midnight diesel fuel, the Banks Sidewinder D-Max Type-R road race truck stretches its legs a bit in full race trim on the Banks chassis dynamometer. The nightime dyno runs allowed the race crew to make a few tuning adjustments before heading out for more testing the following day at Thunderhill Raceway, about an hour north of Sacramento.
