Is
emission information available for Banks Power systems?
All Banks truck and RV Power and Braking Systems product is emissions
tested, and complies with California and federal emissions standards. This includes
all Monster Exhausts, Git Kits, Stinger, Stinger-Plus Systems, and PowerPack
systems, as well as all Banks Brake systems. Depending on the Banks system that
is installed, your vehicle may be covered under a California Air Resources Board
Executive Orders (CARB E.O.).These are issued after meeting the test criteria
set forth by CARB for aftermarket product on over-the-road vehicles. Although
there are a few companies that follow this procedure for gasoline applications,
there are far fewer companies compliant in the diesel aftermarket.
Banks Racing products may or may not be emissions compliant on all
vehicles in all states.
Are Banks systems in compliance with
California Air Resources Board (CARB) requirements?
Customer
concern in this area is valid. Many people forget that emissions
are a major part of performance enhancement. All Banks truck and
RV Power and Braking Systems product is emissions tested and comply
with federal emissions law. Where applicable, Banks also obtains
Executive Order (EO) numbers from the California Air Resources
Board (CARB), indicating products are legal for sale in California.
(Some Monster Exhaust and Stinger systems for gasoline applications
do not require an EO number, because all the components mount behind
the catalytic converter, defined as "cat-back." CARB
does not require EOs for cat-back systems.)
All Banks systems
that include an OttoMind are emissions tested with the OttoMind in
place, and therefore are covered by the EO as a complete system. OttoMinds
sold as options are covered under their own EO numbers. In some cases,
final paperwork for the EO number may lag behind product availability–one
of the downsides of dealing with a government bureaucracy. |
