Continuing on its tear of awesome seven-second clean diesel performance, the world’s quickest and fastest diesel drag truck, the Banks Sidewinder S-10, clocked a pair of 7s on The Strip at Las Vegas Motor Speedway’s quarter-mile, a 7.87 at 179.35 mph and a 7.88, 179.78, during exhibition runs at the SummitRacing.com NHRA Nationals April 12 and 13. The truck was invited by NHRA officials to showcase the awesome 1,250-plus horsepower of the clean-running diesel.

Next, driver Wes Anderson and the Banks Power race team plan to demonstrate the virtues of diesel performance to race fans farther east when they compete at diesel events in Bowling Green, Ky., and Steele, Ala. The S-10, which runs Bosch/Banks electronics, Hoosier drag slicks, Lamb components, and Red Line oil, has gone quicker and faster with almost every run it’s made since last October.

On April 26, the Banks crew plans to attend the TS Performance Outlaw Drag Race and Sled Pull at Beech Bend Raceway Park in Bowling Green. Less than a month later, on May 17, the crew plans to compete in the National Association of Diesel Motorsports’ Competition Diesel Invitational at Alabama International Dragway in Steele.
