Banks PedalMonster is the best upgrade for your Toyota Tacoma or Tundra!

You’ve got a new turbocharged Tacoma or Tundra and you love it. It’s a truly modern Toyota that doesn’t ask you to make the kinds of sacrifices that their older siblings did. You’ve got modern infotainment with a big screen, comfortable seats and way more cabin room than you ever had before. Unfortunately, it’s not all blue skies in Toyota town because your throttle pedal sucks.

It’s ok to admit it. The Tacoma in particular has an unfortunate dead spot that rears its ugly little head not long after you get going and it makes the trucks not especially fun to drive. Surely there has to be a fix for this that doesn’t involve anything crazy, involved or unsafe.

There is, and it’s called the Banks PedalMonster! The PedalMonster is a plug-and-play throttle controller that installs in between your pedal and your vehicle’s wiring harness. It intercepts your pedal’s signal and applies a new custom throttle curve to help remove that dip, but it does a lot more than just that.

PedalMonster has three tiers of throttle maps with 10 settings in each, allowing for unprecedented levels of control. These maps are adjustable on the fly, too, meaning you can tweak your settings whenever you want, to suit any situation. Banks also offers a feature called “Tip-In” control which lets you select a different throttle curve for speeds below 10 mph, so you can dial in just the right amount of sensitivity independent of the other throttle curves.

Banks PedalMonster is also by far the safest throttle controller on the market thanks to patented features like Active Safety and Reverse Safety. The former will bypass the PedalMonster automatically should it experience a failure of some kind, leaving you with a stock pedal profile. Other throttle controllers will typically leave you with a dead, inoperable pedal and that can be dangerous, especially in traffic.

Reverse Safety bypasses the PedalMonster when you shift your vehicle to reverse. Why is this important? Because having a very sensitive throttle in reverse can lead to unintended acceleration and that can see you backing through a garage door or into someone in a parking lot. Nobody else has this feature.

How does PedalMonster know you’re in reverse? Simple, it’s the only pedal conditioner that is powered via your vehicle’s OBDII port. Not only is this a clean, reliable source of power that won’t cause check engine lights, it allows PedalMonster access to your vehicle’s computer. This means it knows what vehicle it’s in, what kind of transmission you have and what gear you’re in, among other things.

PedalMonster is adjustable on the fly either through the Banks Power app or through one of Banks’ iDash Pro digital gauges, which offers the side benefit of being able to monitor eight of your vehicle’s data streams at once, allowing you to keep an eye on temperatures, pressures and more.

If you own an older Toyota truck made after 2010, don't worry because Banks also has you covered when it comes to PedalMonster.
