The stock intercooler is riddled with restrictions that cause turbulence, which kills airflow and power. Banks minimizes restrictions by making the flow area bigger throughout, from the 3 inch mandrel-bent boost tubes to the 25% thicker core, which has a whopping 34% increase in flow volume.

Most competitors have poorly designed sheet metal end tanks with square corners that choke airflow. Techni-Cooler’s large, high-efficiency custom-machined end tanks have two advantages.
One: The streamlined design and rounded corners improve airflow.
Two: Banks’ cast end tanks will never melt or burst under high-boost conditions.

"fit perfectly, due to age (2005 engine)it didn;t have a parts breakdown in instructions. BUT it is on and dropped my EGT by over 100 degrees when just cruising around. LOVE IT!"

"Before I added the banks inner cooler and sixgun tuner on my 2005 Silverado 2500 6.6 LLY I was running 4 inch magna flow exhaust,K&N cold air intake,AFE turbo inlet. It ran decent then but once I put the intercooler and the six gun tuner on it it turned into a rocket! Day and night improvement! Highly recommend it! I keep it on level three, seems to be best for me. I am a plumbing contractor and this is my daily driving truck. Thank you Gail Banks! Bruce R"
"The 3 inch tubing on the driver side is in a way that gives you more clearance around the power steering lines. GM had a bad design on the LB7 Duramaxes that put the CAC tubing too close to the power steering lines, and then they "fixed" it by using a smaller diameter tube on the LLY Duramaxes. Banks took care of both problems you don't have to worry about the piping or power steering hose being rubbed through and have the most air flow possible. The charge air cooler itself is much thicker and the cores are wider as well. The air flow difference is huge, i had to recalibrate my vane position tables because too much boost was making its way on through to the engine on the top end. That also means the vanes are a tiny bit more open reducing my drive pressure. The third thing i liked about it was how it moved the radiator closer to the engine a half an inch. This may not seem like much but it also pushed the fan shroud closer to the engine, now the engine fan is tucked fully within the fan shroud and the allowing the engine fan to draw air more efficiently."

"The packaging was well done my inner cooler arrive fairly quick. The boost tubes had a bunch of scratches in them didn’t bother me too much because they were where you couldn’t see them. The only downfall is I didn’t get any new clamps with my order. I will know soon enough if I’m getting better, gas, mileage."
