The stock intercooler has an inferiority complex. No wonder it's smaller than Techni-Cooler in every aspect: boost tubes. core area, inlet/outlet, even the end tanks. Most competitors use poorly designed sheet metal end tanks and provide inadequate flow volume.

Banks cranks up the volume.  
Banks improves airflow into and out of the intercooler with big mandrel-bent 3 inch boost tubes. Large, rugged, high-efficiency cast end tanks that won't rupture under high-boost conditions. A huge inlet and outlet. And a 25% larger core area with a whopping  34% improvement in volume

The king of cool.  
Removing restrictions and improving airflow lowers boost air temps. This increases the density and oxygen content of air entering the engine, which amplifies power, lowers exhaust gas temps (EGTs) and improves fuel economy. When EGTs are tamed, the tuner doesn't need to limit fuel delivery. So you get higher continuous, useable power and more power at any EGT. Very cool!

Can't keep my foot out of it now.

"Awesome product. The only issue I had was installing the new hoses onto the new boost tubes. Asking the new hose to go over the rib on the boost tube is quite alot. Had to remove the tubes and fight the hoses on, on the ground, then re-install. Fishing the tubes back in was no problem. Every thing was as the instructions described. Thank you.."

Don't waste your money else where, by Banks!

"Before I added the banks inner cooler and sixgun tuner on my 2005 Silverado 2500 6.6 LLY I was running 4 inch magna flow exhaust,K&N cold air intake,AFE turbo inlet. It ran decent then but once I put the intercooler and the six gun tuner on it it turned into a rocket! Day and night improvement! Highly recommend it! I keep it on level three, seems to be best for me. I am a plumbing contractor and this is my daily driving truck. Thank you Gail Banks! Bruce R"

Quality and attention to detail.

"The 3 inch tubing on the driver side is in a way that gives you more clearance around the power steering lines. GM had a bad design on the LB7 Duramaxes that put the CAC tubing too close to the power steering lines, and then they "fixed" it by using a smaller diameter tube on the LLY Duramaxes. Banks took care of both problems you don't have to worry about the piping or power steering hose being rubbed through and have the most air flow possible. The charge air cooler itself is much thicker and the cores are wider as well. The air flow difference is huge, i had to recalibrate my vane position tables because too much boost was making its way on through to the engine on the top end. That also means the vanes are a tiny bit more open reducing my drive pressure. The third thing i liked about it was how it moved the radiator closer to the engine a half an inch. This may not seem like much but it also pushed the fan shroud closer to the engine, now the engine fan is tucked fully within the fan shroud and the allowing the engine fan to draw air more efficiently."

The packaging was well done

"The packaging was well done my inner cooler arrive fairly quick. The boost tubes had a bunch of scratches in them didn’t bother me too much because they were where you couldn’t see them. The only downfall is I didn’t get any new clamps with my order. I will know soon enough if I’m getting better, gas, mileage."

The Technicooler will not fit OEM boost tubes.
