Allows your Cummins engine to make consistent power under extreme conditions. Prevents engine derate. Cooler EGTs, improved fuel economy, and better constant-duty power. Flows 48% better than stock. Adds a calculated +27 hp and +51 lb-ft. Includes massive high-flow boost tube upgrade.
Superior to Stock: Everything about Banks Intercooler Intercooler System is designed bigger and better. This upgrade kit includes a set of high-flow boost tubes and a Banks designed intercooler solution.
The Banks Boost Tubes feature over sized mandrel-bent pipes matched to the increased performance design of the new intercooler. The Banks designed intercooler has a thicker core to improve cooling area and volume, while its large high-efficiency all-aluminum end tanks and wide-open inlet / outlets maintain peek performance. The Banks Intercooler dramatically increases the engines cooling capacity and power potential by balancing a richer fuel mixture with cooler, denser, improved airflow.
Result: You get higher continuous power and more power at any exhaust gas temp (EGT), with better fuel economy, and lower EGTs. That's a truckload of benefits! It doesn't get any cooler than Intercooler! Mounting hardware included.
Turbos and intercoolers are Density Machines, so when you increase Boost Air Density, “BAD” is very good for power. After 58 years, the crew at Banks is damn good at making BAD, and the numbers don't lie! When you compare the new Banks Intercooler for the Ram 6.7L to stock and aFe, you can clearly see why Banks is better.
The Banks 6.7L Ram intercooler outflows stock 13x better than aFe and flows 2.5x better than aFe! Plus, with 55 percent reduced pressure loss, you're looking at some serious density increases which equal massive power gains. When you compare us to aFe and see that we do it for less, why would you buy anything other than Banks?
Banks offers a huge performance advantage and lower price!
*Note: With increased air density and reduced pressure drops, your factory ECM will adjust to maintain stock air density values. This will allow your engine to produce the same power output with less effort, resulting in longer engine life and better fuel economy. Power increases by a calculated +27 hp and +51 lb-ft if your ECM maintains turbo speed and Air/Fuel Ratio.

"Banks definitely makes a quality product. There is no substitution as far as the quality. I started with the pedal monster, then did the Banks ram air, then the cold air intake, and now the intercooler and exhaust. The ram air they have great instructions and the video was good. They were a couple times in the video. They touched on a few things and said they were gonna come back to it, but never did but a little time you can figure it out. just give yourself plenty of time. the cold air intake was a little bit of a pain to get in, nothing compared to the RAM air or the inner cooler. With the cold air intake I found putting the elbow on first and then attaching the filter and the box at the end was easier. The intercooler definitely was a chore again just have a little patience and give yourself plenty of time. The difference in the quality and the weight from the stock is incredible. The boost tubes as well are huge compared to stock and no dents. Banks definitely utilized every inch of space for the inner cooler as well as the cold air intake. With the inner cooler, life would be much easier if you had a lift and two people. I did it by myself on the garage floor so it is doable, but it was definitely time-consuming and a little frustrating. But like I said, if you have a lift, it makes a world a difference. And on that note, make sure you leave everything loose because you will be adjusting and sliding tubes back-and-forth to make sure there is enough clamp space on every connection point. As far as the exhaust, the hardest part was getting the rubber stock hanger free after that the rest of it was pretty straightforward. I know I’m jumping all over the place but the pedal monster is awesome. It feels like you’re adding horsepower and you haven’t even done anything. I’m pretty happy with everything that I have and the truck with everything I did feels like it’s physically lighter because it’s so much more responsive crisp and I know people are naysayers, but I have actually watched my miles per gallon rise, and hand calculations they are up as well. Not that that matters because you don’t do the upgrades for mile per gallon you do them for Performance ha ha. I have the data monster pro and pod in my cart. They keep throwing 10% at me. I am hoping they will throw a little more and I will jump on that but for now I wait. The Derringer also says it’s in production, but it sounds like it’s been that way for a while so I hope they come out with it. We will see. Very happy with the quality and the customer service and support is unbelievable, I was missing a screw and a spacer on one kit got on the phone. It was at my house in two days. The whole time sometimes are a little long but once you get somebody, you’re usually in pretty damn good shape. Thanks!"
"All I had to say was man that thing weighs a ton after reading the description from the ups tag it must be a UNIT. It arrived and Holy smokes! What nice piece of hardware. I have fue other goodies coming here to install on the my everyday rig. I will gladly give an update after that. Its extremely well made and after talking with customer service about the intercooler and asking about egts booting characteristics from stock this I sold. Very knowledgeable customer service no push sales I will continue to come back for more products. This being the third project I have gotten from Banks there's has been a big difference in Cummings 3500 in performance and fuel economy. Thanks for all of what you guys and gals do at Banks Power."
"Exact fit and a serious upgrade to the puny factory system. Well made and the install manual will guide you along the way. A clip removal tool, screwdriver, and a variety of 13mm, 11mm, and 9/32 sockets and wrenches will get it done. Installed easily in about 3 hours. Removing the inner wheel wells and the front compatibility brackets (heavy steel tubing mounted to the frame directly below the factory intercooler) made removing and installing the intercooler a breeze. I also applied a very light coat of Sil Glyde to the charge tubes to help position them on the truck. The Banks intercooler is stout, you may want a buddy to help you put it in place to make your connections and get it loosely mounted. Hardest part for me was getting the upper bolts started on the intercooler brackets. It's a very snug fit and they are directly behind the inlet and outlet. Take your time, they will go in."
"After months of the box sitting in my garage, finally installed the Banks intercooler and boost tubes. The most obvious difference is just comparing the Banks tubes to the stock tubes. Pulled the driver side tube off and there is a dent in it that is supposedly to help with clearance? How much more restriction was that causing? Yes, the entire process takes time but the directions are good and there are plenty of videos out there that are also helpful. After previously upgrading to Banks Ram Air Filter, Monster-Ram Intake, and Pedal Monster, this was the next piece that I felt was necessary and it hasn't disappointed. The first noticeable difference since installing the intercooler is that climbing grades is easier and there is less chance of the truck needing/wanting to downshift. I have a relatively short trip to work each day, 10-15 minutes. It would average 12-13 mpg depending on the time of year. Now it's consistently over 14 mpg. The best improvement has been on the highway. 215 mile round trip to my hunting camp, mainly highway miles. Went up with just the truck, came back with a 16' landscape trailer hauling a side by side that had a snowplow attached, AND the truck went into regen once during the trip. MPG average for the trip was almost 17mpg! Before the intercooler swap I would have averaged around 15mpg for that trip. Impressed as always with Banks and can't wait for consistently warmer weather to get a better idea of what the truck can really do with this latest upgrade."
