TransCommand is an automatic-transmission-management computer that delivers functions that no single module can. The E4ODs and 4R100s - used in full-sized Ford trucks and vans since 1989 - have soft, car-like shift characteristics. Many truck owners prefer firmer shifts, especially when hauling large loads. TransCommand is the quick, efficient cure. The electronic module senses the load and commands the transmission to raise the hydraulic pressure accordingly. Light-throttle shifts are smooth and firm, while full-throttle or heavy-load driving produces solid, decisive shifts. Excessive clutch slippage is eliminated, extending transmission life. Built with high-temp, solid-state components. Easy to install. E4OD Bliss! . . . No, seriously.

"Gale & his team are geniuses! I drive a very powerful '97 OBS 7. 3L Powerstroke. Years ago I had Diesel Site build a 20000lb + tow capacity E4OD with 1200hp torque converter. This thing is incredible with billet hard parts throughout. Love it. However, the shifting had issues at certain temps as it warmed up, and/or when hot towing a large load. Sometimes it might slip a touch at 40+ psi boost, but the main issue was loosing a filling occasionally when it shifted into 2nd. It was violent. Otherwise, it shifted like butter when cold, and mostly smooth when at operating temp. I was about to order a John Wood Valve Body when I stumbled across this TransCommand computer. I thought, "It's from Gale Banks! I love this guy! I'm trying it. " OMG! I am so happy I bought this computer. Whoa! Easy installation and it immediately made a miraculous change! No more hydraulic pressure issues. This transmission now shifts incredible! It feels appropriate at all loads and temps. Smooth on light throttle and the perfect fimness under high boost and/or large loads. If you drive a Ford with the E4OD, then you simply MUST use this additional computer! I have the Power Hungry Performance chip that has transmission tunes with the engine tunes, but that PCM just can't seem to get it right. This second computer takes that upstream info and further processes it to basically clean up the confusion. The shift points you have in the Power Hungry chip aren't altered, but the hydraulic pressures are dialed! The result is just a huge damn smile every time I drive that truck now. Seriously. You need this TransCommand. If you have "shift feel" issues in an otherwise solid transmission, start here."

"Great product. Made my 1993 E350 7. 3 NA IDI shift great. No more slipping or ultra soft shifts. Holds RPM longer to help with hills and getting on the freeway. Install was simple and easy. I disconnected the wiring on the opposite side of the transmission to gain some slack in the harness. Made work much easier. Did not need any special dental tools to work on the old style E4OD harness. Just a small screw driver to release the pins. This is for sure a DIY project."

I have 1997 Ford F350 7.3 powerstroke just got my Trans rebuilt with dual friction plate torque converter,heavy duty internal parts and shift kit. Would you reccommend this part for my truck?

I have a custom built 7.3idi from R&D Performance. The transmission is new with a performance valve body and aftermarket torque converter. Will this still work with the transmission? Is there a learning phase it has to go through?
No go, the pressure changes would be too aggressive
Will this work on a 93 5.8 e4od or is it just for the diesels?
