The Banks Ram Air Transmission Pan for 2020-2025 Duramax trucks with the 10-speed 10L1000 transmission outperforms and outcools the competition by leveraging decades of Ram-Air technology and thermal management expertise honed in racing and military engine development.
Taking advantage of the fast-moving cool air under your truck, the Ram-Air Transmission Pans' Patented design provides forced air cooling as it draws ambient air through the large forward-facing Ram-Air scoop and through the external heat radiation fins.
Even with the larger 10 speed Allison transmission tucked between the frame, the Ram-Air Transmission Pan is engineered so that the lowest point is only the sacrificial front scoop while still providing 3 additional quarts of fluid capacity.
The plastic scoop is also designed to break away without causing damage to your pan, just in case. If this happens to you, let us know and we will send a replacement Ram-Air scoop on the house.

All Banks lubrication cooling products are die-cast, not sand-cast like some competitors. Made with far greater precision, a die-cast part is denser, smoother, and has virtually no porosity compared to the equivalent sand-cast part.
Sand-cast parts often retain the sand they were molded with. Sand is an abrasive material that is bad for bearings and cylinder walls. In other words, you don’t want sand in your oil. Finally, our long, thin cooling fins are only possible with a die-cast process. Although this process costs more, it's worth it.

"Excellent product. Slightly more difficult to install on creeper than appears. Temps seem to be definitely lower. Instructions are clear… could add a method or two to keep gasket aligned especially if doing alone but easy enough to find on line. I personally used butcher’s string in 4 or 5 holes and removed carefully after bolts started and lined up. Use cardboard on floor, lots of rags. Awesome when done."

"Upon dropping old pan installing the new along with fluid and filter, I noticed the Transmission temperature was approximately 10-15 degrees cooler than previously when pulling the same amount of heavy loads. Texas heat 105 and transmission never got above 172 on several loads in stop and go traffic. Running 75-80 on freeway stay consistent at 160-165.
