Your Stock Intake is Restrictive
The 2020-23 Duramax OEM Air Box is a bulky multi-piece design with harsh bends and sharp corners. Resonators and silencers compromise the air path in an effort to keep noise at a minimum. While the factory design does have inlets that mate to the hood's air scoop, its square filter and S-shaped flow path induce turbulence, reducing air density.
The Devil's in the Details
The new Banks Ram-Air system features a durable heat-resistant enclosure with a smooth organic shape that maximizes cool air volume around the filter while maintaining air velocity into the box itself. The new Big-Ass filter offers greater dust capacity while minimizing flow restriction. A huge tapering intake tube and flexible silicone elbow interface further increase air density and velocity.
Patented Electronics
The ECM (engine control module) in your 2020-23 Duramax monitors air mass and pressure so closely that any deviation from stock results in a check engine light. Banks' groundbreaking cold air intake features the patented Banks Air Mass Control Module. The electronic device allows our engineers to use the Banks SuperTube, a massive free-flowing intake tube, larger than stock and all competitors. No other cold air intake even comes close in size or airflow. Meanwhile, competitors are stuck with stock or less-than-stock airflow.
