How Our Exhaust improves Power
How Our Exhaust improves Power

Without our patented Exhaust Control Module, you're limited to stock airflow.

  Gale Banks — Azusa, CA

Why You Need It

The Banks Monster Exhaust is ONLY true 5" DPF-back exhaust system for 2024-2026 Chevy/GMC 2500/3500 Duramax 6.6L trucks. Increasing diameter from the stock 4" to 5" from the DPF to the tailpipe results in a measurable decrease in exhaust backpressure. This reduction in backpressure liberates power during the exhaust stroke, sharpens turbo response, and increases fuel economy.

Why It's Better

  • Improves power and fuel economy
  • The only true 5" DPF-back exhaust system
  • Side exit prevents melting your trailer during regen
  • Looks better than stock
  • Stainless steel construction

Innovative Electronics

In 2024, GM added additional emission-related checks for the exhaust system, measuring the Diesel Particulate Filter's pressure differential. When exhaust back pressure is reduced after the DPF, such as with a 5" exhaust, the engine control module thinks the DPF is over-full with soot and reduces engine power to protect itself, when in reality, the DPF may be empty and free-flowing.

To overcome this obstacle, we engineered the Banks Exhaust Pressure Control Module (U.S. Patent 12618353), which installs in-line with the DPF delta pressure sensor. The module recalibrates the DPF pressure sensor signal to the ECM, providing corrected data while permitting significantly improved exhaust flow.

Drop The Pressure

Banks negative back-pressure tip virtually eliminates back-pressure after the DPF. With a side-draft rocket nozzle-like tip, exhaust gases are literally sucked out of the end of the exhaust.

With pressure sensors installed, this negative exhaust pressure resulted in an impressive 9% reduction all the way back to the turbine inlet. No other exhaust for 2024+ Duramax trucks can provide this level of pressure reduction.

Change Your Look

Duramax owners can choose from two huge 6.5 x 7.5-inch ob-round slash-cut exhaust tips: chrome-plated polished stainless steel or high-temp Cerakote matte black. And, unlike other brands, Banks' Cerakote black or Chrome tip will not turn brown with heat.

Don't Be Decieved

With the stock exhaust nozzle measuring 2.85-inch compared to the Monster Exhausts massive 5-inch outlet, the Banks system offers a 192% greater flow area than stock.
Comparison of the Banks Monster Exhaust to the stock 2.85

The Monster Exhaust boasts 85% less backpressure than stock, leading to more power and increased fuel economy.

Drop That Heat

The Monster Exhaust also provides a 15% reduction in exhaust temperature two feet behind the tip during regen! The Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF) on the Duramax L5P is cleaned through regeneration in which scorching exhaust gas temperatures can last up to 20 minutes while driving.

Unlike the stock Duramax exhaust, which directs a prolonged jet-like blast of super-heated exhaust gas directly at anything being towed, the Monster Exhaust is aimed out to the side of the truck. This allows ambient air to diffuse the heated gas, eliminating the risk of melting a trailer, which has been reported by many Duramax owners.

2024 Sierra

"Installation could not have been easier. Soaked the sensors with pb blaster overnight and sprayed the hangers with silicone so the stock system came out effortlessly. Looks night and day better than the stock trumpet. Fitment was perfect. Started the truck to find no check engine light. Couldn’t ask for anything more and would expect nothing less from a Banks product. Pure perfection!"

Q&A

Is this the exhaust we should buy if we have a 2023.5 with the dual sensors on the intake?
This exhaust kit isn't compatible with 2023.5 trucks, unfortunately they have a unique emissions system that we don't plan to develop a product for at this time.
Witch bed is this made for? Or will it fit both beds
It will fit both bed sizes.
Will this product affect the factory powertrain warranty? Wondering due to having to cut the exhaust piping.
The stance on aftermarket parts varies widely from dealer to dealer. This is why we suggest consulting with your dealer to learn how they choose to enforce manufacturer warranty policies. Generally speaking, there are three types of dealerships. 1. Dealers that embrace and install performance upgrades. 2. Dealers who will overlook an aftermarket part because they know it's harmless. 3. Dealers who are militant about aftermarket accessories and will deny a warranty. You'll find dealers across the US and Canada that sell and Banks products. You'll also find dealerships that will encourage you to keep the vehicle stock.
Can this be modified to fit the Dooley and if not can we just buy the chip so we can make our own exhaust
It will install on a DRW platform, but we are just not happy with the fitment. We are evaluating changes to the design as its simply not up to our standards.
What material is this made out of and will it withstand the exposure to the salty roads in the widest winters?
It's made out of 409 Stainless Steel which will form a protective oxide layer which reduces rusting but no metal is truly rust-proof. We do recommend those in the most rusty zones to Cerakote the whole pipe system.
