"Really suggest viewing the Banks install video and O ring video, will put you in a better place to get things done. Viewed some other install videos just to see if there were any tips or tricks to learn before getting down to it. Took me up to 4-5 hours to completion but that because I took my time and did not want to rush. Added the 4 quarts but eye didn’t read so added a little more to eye read half. DON’T DO THAT!! It read over fill once I took it down the road. Being able to unscrew the drain plug to pull some oil out was ideal. So far no leaks and eye window reads half. Banks made a great product and I’m very happy with the purchase!!"

Good quality; clean install; drain-fill-level big improvement
"Put the rear diff cover on my 2007 2500 with 11. 50 rear end. I was impressed with the stock cover; my truck had the good double seal gasket from the factory (no silicone). The Banks uses a serpentine o-ring that seems very reliable. The Banks mounting bolts take a lot less torque than factory specs (~12 ft-lb vs. ~30). I used a beam-type torque wrench as I find them more reliable at low torques. Although the Banks instructions say not to rely on the sight glass for level, I lined up a steel straightedge across the lower edge of two opposing mounting holes and found the center of the sight glass was just a smidge below the lower edge of the stock fill hole. . . exactly where the factory manual specifies the oil level. So using the sight glass for an occasional level check is reasonable. . . you do have to be aware that dirty oil could clog the sight glass weep holes and trap oil that mimics a correct oil level (when you might actually be low). Regardless, the cover is a good product, likely improves oil flow within the differential, and gets compliments from mechanics that work on the truck (recent diff pinion seal replacement as well as the usual general service)."

"Very well engineered and designed and perfect fit! I've only used Amsoil in this truck since it was new and the rear differential has never been over 200 degree F. With a slide in camper and a 20 foot trailer at 7,000 LBS. In summer heat at Colorado altitude climbing passes over 12,000 feet.
