  • Die-Cast not sand-cast like competitors
  • Patent No. US 12,313,156 B1
About This Product

Banks brings forced air cooling to the Ford 10R140 10 speed transmission. Using technology from our patented differential covers, the Banks Ram-Air Transmission Pan extends fluid life by rejecting more heat than stock and all competitors. An additional two quarts of capacity, a break-away Ram-Air scoop, and Banks FlowThru Fins® aid in cooling. Cooler fluid means a longer-lasting transmission. Patent No. US 12,313,156 B1

Why It's Better

Engineered To Run Cool

The Banks Ram Air Transmission Pan for 2020+ Ford Power Stroke trucks with the 10-speed 10R140 transmission outperforms and outcools the competition by leveraging decades of Ram-Air technology and thermal management expertise honed in racing and military engine development.

10R140 Banks Ram-Air Transmission Pan

Forced Air Cooling

Taking advantage of the fast-moving cool air under your truck, the Ram-Air Transmission Pans' Patented design provides forced air cooling as it draws ambient air through the large forward-facing Ram-Air scoop and through the external heat radiation fins.

Banks Ram-Air 10R140 Transmission Pan Technical Features

•1/8" NPT port for easily adding a supplemental temperature sensor to your vehicle.

•24 deep-cut external radiator fins provide more exposed surface area to the cool air moving under the truck.

•Internal fins run in line to the magnetic drain plug to promote full fluid drainage.

•22 internal fins absorb more heat from the oil than a standard pan or all other aftermarket pans.

•Die-cast process provides a smoother, less porous interior surface and improves fluid flow in the pan.

Banks Ram-Air 10R140 Transmission Integrated Weep Plug

•Banks Ram-Air transmission pans for the Ford 10 speed include an OE style fluid level check plug to verify the fluid level when servicing or topping off.

•Fluid level check uses a face-sealing stainless steel Banks plug.

The Banks proprietary FlowThru Fins® maximise thermal energy transfer by lining up the internal absorption and external radiator elements with each other.

Transmission fluid heat is efficiently drawn from the fluid, reducing stress on your Power Strokes cooling and lubrication systems.

Banks Ram-Air Transmission Pan, Technical Features

Banks vs Stock

The stock 10R140 pan is shallow and made from molded composite material, which actually acts as a heat insulator.

Without additional means to cool the fluid, it quickly becomes heat soaked with no way to radiate the additional heat load.

With an additional 5-quart fill capacity and a massive increase in internal and external surface area, transmission heat is efficiently rejected through the casting and back to the cool ambient air under the truck.

Stock 10R140 vs Banks

Die-Cast vs Sandcast

All Banks lubrication cooling products are die-cast, not sand-cast like some competitors. Made with far greater precision, a die-cast part is denser, smoother, and has virtually no porosity compared to the equivalent sand-cast part.

Wide view of CoolRunner Squeeze Gap
Real world example of rough cast surface vs smooth die cast

Sand-cast parts often retain the sand they were molded with. Sand is an abrasive material that is bad for bearings and cylinder walls. In other words, you don’t want sand in your oil. Finally, our long, thin cooling fins are only possible with a die-cast process. Although this process costs more, it's worth it.

Fluid Dynamics
  • Internal cooling fins run inline with the drain port with streamlined passageways
  • Downward-facing port eases oil change process
  • Low fluid aeration means longer fluid life
