Old 7. 3 drives much better

"Happy with the performance of each tune. So much more response in daily driving. No more feeling like I have to push the pedal to the floor for the truck to go. Shifts sooner and will stay in gear without downshifting at slightest application of throttle like when stock. No smoke. Only thing I wish I could do was increase the shift firmness a little more. Unfortunately it does not give me that option for my truck. It says it does in the book but there is no options when I try to customize the tune other than tire size and gear ratio. I even updated the tool to make sure everything was in there. I had a Diablosport that let me change it but this does not. Must have something to do with my truck being an early 1999 F250 7. 3L Powerstroke and the Banks programming. It also only reads a couple of data PID's. There again I think due to the early 99."

2000 F250 7. 3 ZF6 AutoMind 2

"My 2000 F250 7. 3 ZF6 was only rated at 230HP from the factory. I was looking for something to add a little bit of power, I just wanted something to get it close to the 275HP that the last year model of the 7. 3 produced. I have also never liked how the throttle pedal behaved from the factory. I decided on the Banks AutoMind 2 because of Banks reputation and quality of products, I have some of their products on my other truck. I have only tried the Tow/Work tune so far and it has given me exactly what I was looking for. It gave me enough power that the truck feels lighter, faster, and more responsive. It seems to have improved the behavior of the throttle pedal too. It will smoke a little more than I expected from a banks tune (especially just the tow/work level) under certain conditions, but if you are very smooth with the throttle it will run clean and performs very well. If you want to wake up your 7. 3 I would highly recommend."

Advanced tuning

"Picked an unlocked, used Auto Mind for my 2002 F350, 7. 3. Been through all the settings. Definitely runs better on all settings. Trans was shifting kind of weird. Dropping into lower gear and immediately changing. I went into advanced tuning and added 32. 5 for my tire size . . . 285/75/16. Cured it all. Just like that, I have a 23 year old truck that is performing great . . . Driving easy, or if you have to jump on it."

'00 F-350 Lariat Banks Items

"I have been a Banks customer since the early 90's. I have always been impressed with their product quality and engineering. My first experience was with a Banks Sidewinder kit on a '92 Ford 7. 3 non-factory turbo truck; man could that truck pull back in the day! I recently added a few Banks items to my '00 F-350 Lariat "project truck", to include a Monster Exhaust, Ram Air and AutoMind 2 programmer. This was money well spent, and the investment did not disappoint! This is a low milage 7. 3 Powerstroke that has been taken care of. The throttle response is now crisp, and the AutoMind 2 totally eliminated the "dead pedal" feel (running the tuner on level 3). It also cleaned up transmission shift points and made downshifts more responsive. The fit and finish of both the monster exhaust and ram air intake were exceptional, and I can really hear the turbo and increased airflow. The truck accelerates easily and has power that it was lacking. 7. 3's were not designed to be fast, but the truck is now fun to drive. It's only been a week since we installed all the parts, so I don't have any mileage or towing performance numbers to share. We own new diesel trucks and old diesel trucks. This is the last restoration project of my three older diesel trucks - '97 Powerstroke, '99 Cummins & '00 PowerStroke. I think many people are rediscovering older diesel trucks after dealing with frustrations over DEF consumption, DPF pluggage and other modern emission items. If it makes you smile, you should go for it, and this truck has put a smile on my face. Thank you Jeff and the Banks team!"

So I saw that it won't work on 2011+ cab & chassis will this work on an 04 F-450 6.0 drw cab & chassis?: Hey thanks for messaging us, it should work on an early 7.3 or 6.0L or 6.4 but not on the modern 6.7L trucks.
can i use the automind with the derringer tuner installed.: Unfortunately, they cannot be stacked.
Will the auto mind read EGT's on a 2004 6.0: It wont be able to read it. Most vehicles pre-2008 don't report back EGT information.
I have 2 different trucks I want to tune. 2011 f150 and a 2017 f150, can use the tuner on both trucks at the same time?: Automind will tune only one truck at a time. It cannot tune multiple vehicles.
Will this work with other Aftermarket add-ons from other companies like Cold Air Intake? If so, will it compensate for new MAF values?: Yes, the AutoMind 2 tuner works great with all aftermarket intake systems because the truck's ECM is still free to make MAF adjustments as necessary.
