L5P owner lets 'er rip with Ram-Air
Lucky Loon Outdoors installed the Banks Ram-Air Cold Air Intake on a 2020 GMC 3500 Denali Duramax: unboxed, fitted, and road-tested. The results? “You can definitely feel it,” and “You can hear the turbo. It sounds more like a diesel!”
Why It's Great:
- Freer breathing for faster spool, crisper throttle feel
- “Big Ass” filter outflows the competition
- Patented Air Mass Control Module prevents Check Engine Lights
- Refined sound with increased turbo whistle
Ram-Air rampage for a turbo Taco
Matt from Wrench With Matt was one of the first to register to receive the Banks Ram-Air for his 2025 Toyota Tacoma, and it was well worth the wait. “It definitely increases the induction noise without making it too loud or obnoxious. And you can feel the difference in power!”
How It Beats Stock:
- +18.3 hp and +17.7 lb-ft
- Smart MAF relocation brings larger tube diameter with no codes
- Dual inlets (fender & front) supplies cooler, denser air supply
- Improved sound makes more character, not more noise

Go fangs-out with the 7.3 Sidewinder Turbo Kit
Ford’s 7.3-liter IDI diesel engines weren’t built for power—they were built for fuel economy. The naturally aspirated engines made modest horsepower and were S-L-O-W as a result. That’s where Gale Banks stepped in. With the launch of the Sidewinder Turbo System, these engines transformed into true towing workhorses.
Why Turbocharge?
- +86 hp boost and stronger torque for pulling power
- 36–41% quicker acceleration (0–60 and 40–60 mph)
- Cooler temps: 18% lower EGT, 12% lower transmission heat
- 33% better fuel economy
Launched in ’83 and refined in ’93, the Sidewinder kit remains emissions-compliant and available today—proof that a good idea and great engineering will stand the test of time.
