Why It's Better

A True Monster Of A RAM

The all new Monster-Ram® intake for the 6.7L Cummins in your Ram lives up to its name. It is an absolute MONSTER. We pulled out all the stops when developing it.

Your Cummins engine struggles to breathe through its tiny, squashed stock inlet which causes boost loss at the same flow, while the Banks Monster-Ram® has a wide, unrestricted free-flowing path.

Stock versus Banks

The Monster-Ram® offers unparalleled airflow thanks to its custom-engineered fuel line. All this without the need for tuning while being 50-state compliant.

All this without the need for tuning while being 50-state compliant.

Trusted by Tens of Thousands of RAM Owners

Since its debut in 2017, tens of thousands of RAM owners throughout the US and Canada have installed a Monster-Ram to prevent factory grid failure while enjoying quicker throttle response, improved fuel economy, and better drivability.

But performance means nothing without reliability

That's why Monster-Ram is engineered and tested to OEM-level standards. Every part in the Monster-Ram kit, including the proprietary fuel line, is covered by the Banks Limited Lifetime Warranty.

What It Does

The Monster-Ram® improves airflow from the intercooler. It flows 72.7 lbs/min with Banks’ New Coil Heater and High-Flow Cast Intake Plate compared to stock's 38.6 lbs/min MAF. That is a huge 88.3% improvement over stock you can feel!

The proprietary design raises boost without increasing back-pressure at the turbine. The result is improved engine response, efficiency, and headroom for daily driving and heavy hauling.

Chart of Flow versus Pressure Drop

It's All About
Mass Air Flow

The secret to the Monster-Ram®'s performance is not just airflow, but the quality and weight of the air it flows. Your Cummins engine is limited in the volume of air it can flow through its 6 cylinders even at max RPM.

By increasing the mass of the air delivered to each cylinder, your stock-tuned engine will breathe more efficiently with less stress, and set the stage for power gains when stacked with a tune.

Cold Start Test Criteria

We followed RAM's cold start recommendations. Per the owner’s manual, RAM recommends the use of the block heater when the temperature drops below 0°F/-17°C and mandates the block heater at temperatures below -20°F/-29°C.

Using a controlled climate chamber, our first test utilized block heat and two Banks coil heaters (1500 watts total). The Monster-Ram® enabled our test truck to cold start down to -30°F/-34°C.

Against RAM’s recommendations, we also attempted to cold start with the same two coil heaters and no block heat. We were able to cold start down to -20°F/-29°C. Adding a third coil heater (2,250 watts total), the truck started at -30°F/-34°C.*

Cold Start Test Results

All tests were performed with two intake air pre-heat cycles per the owner’s manual. Intake air temperature is just one factor contributing to a successful cold start. Individual results may vary depending on your vehicle’s age and overall condition. Testing is ongoing with a detailed video forthcoming.

Prevents Broken Bolt Engine Failure

Cummins Ticking Time Bomb

Due to heat, vibration, and time, a stud and nut from the factory heater grid have been documented to come loose and fall into the intake manifold. Thanks to the engine's 5° rake, the broken bolt rolls downhill into cylinder #6, causing catastrophic failure that requires a complete engine rebuild or replacement from bent valves, damaged pistons, and head.

The Competition
Cheaps Out

Don’t be fooled by band-aids claiming to prevent grid heater failure. BD’s Killer Grid Heater kit is a temporary fix that leave RAM owners with a false sense of security and a fastener held in by nothing more than liquid thread locker.

Leaving Stock Heater
Chokes Performance

And, while you’re waiting for the BD screw to arc, melt, and fall into the intake manifold, the stock grid heater collects more soot and reduces airflow. Banks Monster-Ram® eliminates the grid heater. There’s nothing to fail or collect soot.

Excellent fit/finish

"Completed the upgrade on my 2015 6. 7 liter Ram 2500. Perfect instructions and the fit was Perfect. Just completed an 800 mile trip pulling our loaded toyhauler. Average was over 1. 5 miles gallon better post upgrade! Amazingly satisfied and the peace of mind knowing the heater grid is no longer an issue is amazing."

Kevin D. (5/5)

No more grid bolt worries

"What a fun week end project. Take you time and definitely wear gloves. Mine Grid Bolt was fine and the inside of my intake and the grid was sooty not blocked at all. Diesel Kleen for years is my guess. If you follow instructions you will be fine. It’s a great time to tidy up elect harness with fiberglass tape. It gave me the confidence to tackle other maintenance need on my Ram instead of paying some one. Thanks Banks"

Steve S. (5/5)

Really Nice

"Ok so was apprehensive at first. It is super Awesome! It looks Amazing minus one major detail! It's Red If it was Maize and Blue it would be the sizzle lol. Seriously even in red it does look amazing. You will do some knuckle bashing and perhaps use some descriptive adjectives depending on your skill levels, but it is worth it. I did multiple things under the hood including boost tubes and a few things that Banks din't offer and all combined they all make a huge difference. I would add a photo and images but I don't see a location to upload. The really only negative is that you end up closing the hood so you can't see it :-("

Nader A. (5/5)

I'm really annoyed I didn't

"I'm really annoyed I didn't get this years ago. Absolutely awesome product! Definitely better throttle response, under wot it pulls harder, plus the turbo sounds great! Thanks banks for making and excellent product!"

Jared A. (5/5)

Wow!!! Tow MPH is GREAT1

"I had Banks install this Monster Ram at their facility. Since we are full time RVers I waited for my 2022 Ram 3500 HO DRW. Very clean and comfortable eating area with snacks and water. I asked for the restroom and Sergio gave me directions. The restroom was so clean that you cold eat lunch in there. Not that I would do that, but It's so clean that it competes with Bucees. Sergio said he's been maintaining the cleanliness of the facility for twenty years. He also recommended the Pedal Monster. It's been over a month and I can't believe my towing MPG since they installed the Monster Ram. I usually get around 8 mpg towing our 18. 5 K. Towing from Redlands CA to Abilene Texas, I got 12. 2 mph. Then Abilene to Austin was more than 11 mpg. The lowest I got in on a round trip between Livingston and Austin was 9. 1. Crazy!"

J. W. (5/5)

16 hour install

"Installation took me 18 hours due to difficult to reach and remove the #6 cylinder fuel line. Eventually, I left it attached to the injector and lifted the other end out off the main fuel header. Allow extra time to disconnect and reconnect all the wiring connectors. I added hi-temp muffler wrap to EGR crossover tube to prevent burns."

Jeff H. (5/5)

Monster Ram

"No more grid heater bolt worries ! Quality made and my truck seems more responsive . And looks good Thank you Banks !!!"

Mark i. (5/5)

I did the complete Banks

"I did the complete Banks upgrade on my 2021 2500 6. 7 Cummins. Did the Monster air Ram, Boost tubes, Cold air intake 5-in exhaust rear diff cover transmission pan and last certainly not least Monster Pedal. Just this morning I drove some neighbors to the airport about 10 miles down the road. My neighbor said holy crap. What have you done to this? This thing sounds awesome and it has amazing zip. He had no idea of all the mods I'd done. I will tell you I did half of it through a local shop and half of it at banks. If at all possible take it to banks for the install!"

Rob B. (5/5)

Banks , monster ram

"Absolutely love it definitely worth the money and the weight definitely recommend buying this product super easy install and now I don’t have to worry about my $30,000 engine dropping number six piston"

jamey s. (5/5)

monster ram intake really works great

"2012 Ram 2500 6. 7 diesel, Installed monster ram intake and my miles per gallon went up 2 to 3 miles per gallon, better than its ever been, average was 12-12. 9 mpg, now I am up 14. 5 to over 16 mpg, super happy, wish I had installed years ago"

Don S. (5/5)

Q&A

I have a 2024 3500. After installing this product, does it make getting the fuel filter out harder? It’s difficult as is, thanks.
Monster-Ram should not interfere with fuel filter replacement.
Can I install this without needing to re tune the truck ?
Monster-Ram is designed to work on stock trucks with no tune, with standard emissions equipment.
I order the monster ram intake and i order it wrong! Looks like it does not fit my 2025 Ram 2500, is there a way to return it? Or exchange it for one that fits? Thank you
Hey thanks for messaging us, we have relayed this info over to our returns team, they will contact you with instructions via email on how to set up the return.
What about factory warranty? Does this affect my warranty?
The stance on aftermarket parts varies widely from dealer to dealer. This is why we suggest consulting with your dealer to learn how they choose to enforce Stellantis' warranty policies. Generally speaking, there are three types of dealerships. 1. Dealers that embrace and install performance upgrades. 2. Dealers who will overlook an aftermarket part because they know it's harmless. 3. Dealers who are militant about aftermarket accessories and will deny a warranty. You'll find dealers across the US and Canada that sell and install Monster-Rams. You'll also find dealerships that will encourage you to keep the vehicle stock. In the case of the Monster-Ram, keeping it, stock could prove to be a costly decision if the grid heater fails.
I have already bought the kit to delete and tune my ram 2500 2020 will this work with the delete kit?
We don't offer any products that can assist or tamper with emissions equipment.
