Banks Triple Heat Capable Monster-Ram improves throttle response and fuel economy by eliminating airflow restrictions. The system prevents severe engine damage by replacing the failure-prone factory grid heater with the Banks High-Flow Intake Plate. The factory heater can't fail if it's not there. Monster-Ram is the only 50-state emissions-compliant RAM intake elbow.
The all new Monster-Ram® intake for the 6.7L Cummins in your Ram lives up to its name. It is an absolute MONSTER. We pulled out all the stops when developing it.
Your Cummins engine struggles to breathe through its tiny, squashed stock inlet which causes boost loss at the
same flow, while the Banks Monster-Ram® has a wide, unrestricted free-flowing path.
The Monster-Ram® offers unparalleled airflow thanks to its custom-engineered fuel line.
All this without the need for tuning while being 50-state compliant.
Since its debut in 2017, tens of thousands of RAM owners throughout the US and Canada have installed a Monster-Ram
to prevent factory grid failure while enjoying quicker throttle response, improved fuel economy, and better
drivability.
But performance means nothing without reliability
That's why Monster-Ram is engineered and tested to
OEM-level standards. Every part in the Monster-Ram kit, including the proprietary fuel line, is covered by the Banks
Limited Lifetime Warranty.
The Monster-Ram® improves airflow from the intercooler. It flows 72.7 lbs/min with Banks’ New Coil Heater and High-Flow Cast Intake Plate compared to stock's 38.6 lbs/min MAF. That is a huge 88.3% improvement over stock you can feel!
The patented design raises boost without increasing back-pressure at the turbine. The result is improved engine response, efficiency, and headroom for daily driving and heavy hauling.
The secret to the Monster-Ram®'s performance is not just airflow, but the quality and weight of the air it flows. Your Cummins engine is limited in the volume of air it can flow through its 6 cylinders even at max RPM.
By increasing the mass of the air delivered to each cylinder, your stock-tuned engine will breathe more efficiently with less stress, and set the stage for power gains when stacked with a tune.
The Monster-Ram® Kit includes a Banks 750-watt coil heater. Want more cold start heat?
Upgrade your Monster-Ram® to 2250 watts with the Triple Heater Upgrade Kit.
Need even more? 750-watt and 1500-watt billet heaters are also available for easy bolt-on supplemental starting heat.
Bolt-on up to an additional 1500W to your Single or Triple Heat Capable Monster-Ram®.
We followed RAM's cold start recommendations. Per the owner’s manual, RAM recommends the use of the block heater when the temperature drops below 0°F/-17°C and mandates the block heater at temperatures below -20°F/-29°C.
Using a controlled climate chamber, our first test utilized block heat and two Banks coil heaters (1500 watts total). The Monster-Ram® enabled our test truck to cold start down to -30°F/-34°C.
Against RAM’s recommendations, we also attempted to cold start with the same two coil heaters and no block heat. We were able to cold start down to -20°F/-29°C. Adding a third coil heater (2,250 watts total), the truck started at -30°F/-34°C.*
All tests were performed with two intake air pre-heat cycles per the owner’s manual. Intake air temperature is just one factor contributing to a successful cold start. Individual results may vary depending on your vehicle’s age and overall condition.
Add the Banks Engine Cover Kit to conceal the factory emissions equipment with an OEM-plus design engineered specifically for Monster-Ram-equipped RAM 6.7L Cummins pickups and chassis cabs
Due to heat, vibration, and time, a stud and nut from the factory heater grid have been documented to come loose and fall into the intake manifold. Thanks to the engine's 5° rake, the broken bolt rolls downhill into cylinder #6, causing catastrophic failure that requires a complete engine rebuild or replacement from bent valves, damaged pistons, and head.
And, while you’re waiting for the BD screw to arc, melt, and fall into the intake manifold, the stock grid heater collects more soot and reduces airflow. Banks Monster-Ram® eliminates the grid heater. There’s nothing to fail or collect soot.
For peak performance, the Monster-Ram® includes a custom-machined high-flow cast intake plate. This plate is machined to the optimum thickness and features an oversized inlet CNC port-matched to the Monster-Ram® for zero restriction and maximum air density.
Our engineers designed an all-new heating solution for the Monster-Ram®.
This new Banks exclusive coil heater sits vertically inside the Monster-Ram® without hindering airflow. This allows the factory grid heater to be replaced with the Banks High-Flow Intake Plate.
This eliminates the risk of engine failure due to parts loosening and falling into the engine while maintaining OEM-like cold weather engine start performance.
Banks fuel lines are engineered to rigorous automotive quality-control standards using premium raw materials.
Each line is laboratory burst-tested to more than three times the maximum pressure produced by the factory high-pressure fuel pump, then fatigue-tested through 10 million pressure cycles simulating operation from idle to wide-open throttle.
“This has got to be one of the best product victories of my whole career.”

"I have had the intake on for about two weeks and have towed 7000 lb camper over 100 miles. I don’t notice much of a mileage difference, maybe slightly higher. Grid heater operation remains the same. I have 112,000 miles on a 2018 3500, the old grid heater bolt showed no wear."
"Awesome product, not bad to install. I’m no mechanic and I was able to do it no problem at all. Had one question tech support was amazing. Highly recommend this company. I will definitely be back"
"My bolt was still tight when I removed the grid heater but the peace of mind that it won’t be able to destroy my engine was reason enough to upgrade to the Banks monster ram. Install was pretty straightforward and can be done by anyone mechanically inclined and attention to details. I swear it added some additional power but I can’t be sure. I soon after added the pedal monster and iDash which really woke up throttle input."
"I installed my monster ram intake in a few days. While I had it apart I cleaned the EGR valve and installed all new gaskets. It fit like a charm and the peace of mind of the grind heater nut not falling into the motor from the stick one is nice. I ended up doing the boost tubes and the cold air intake while I was at it."
"Not a waste of money. The instructions are good and if you follow them you can do it. I installed it in my driveway in 4hrs. You can tell there is a slight increase in power. I will probably do the Banks intercooler upgrade next. Along with the BD exhaust manifold."
"Truck had already been deleted, install was simpler. I am not a mechanic so having limited tools, I took my time, documented the tear down with pictures and notes. Total of 5 hours to complete the install. Throttle response has improved. Haven't noticed any increased fuel economy with the tune I have running. I am very happy with the intake and peace of mind that comes with it."
"Install was not majorly difficult and the directions were spot on. Everything is working perfectly. I installed, the intake with grid heater upgrade, boost tubes and the ram air, cold air intake. Thank for making great products!"
"I can feel the difference between the OEM Intake Acceleration and the Monster Ram Intake Acceleration. It is a great investment and upgrade to my 2017 Ram 3500 with only 127,000 miles on her. I also like the way the Monster Ram Intake brightens up the Engine Bay. Of all the failures, how many can be traced back to the owners NOT letting the Diesel Pre Heat cycle complete it's job."
"The Banks product is a bit pricey, but very high quality. Requires a fairly skilled mechanic to install due to complexity and removal re-installation of high pressure fuel lines. Clean look and engine definitely seems to run stronger. And no more heater grid bolt concern."
"Thank you for your hard work of making such great quality products. I am very happy with this new intake. The truck is happy and breathing nicely I would definitely buy again if I had a nother dodge."
